Oops! Well, I guess it's been awhile since I've posted. Been pretty busy lately. Brandi and I are doing 2 craft shows this holiday. The first one is Nov. 1 here in Malden and the next one is Dec. 6 in Bernie. I'll post some pics next time of a piece or two I've done. I know what! I'll post a before pic of one of my projects and next time I'll post the after pic. I had gotten these frames at Hobby Lobby last year (it just so happens Tammy Tutterow had the same frame, so I borrowed her "before" pic) or so and just recently dug them up to do them for these shows. I love how they turned out! I've also picked up photo frames and altered them. Then again at HL I got some little cardboard stockings and santa hats and altered them. I glittered them up, stamped on them, and used my Pazzles to cut out snowflakes, and added a bit of bling to them. They're cute! I still have pocket calendars to do and a couple of clocks. We'll see if I get them done. And in between all this, I've managed to make a few surprises for Peggie (are you reading this, Peggie? lol ), taught 1 class, finished another project for the next class, watched Dakota while Ryan and Audrey are in the process of moving and help Mom a few hours 1 day a week at my uncle's house. Yep! I've been busy!
Then in between all this, I've been going to the podiatrist about once every 2 weeks. I ordered shoes almost 2 months ago and have yet to get them. My patience ran completely out and I had it out with the Dr.'s office staff! Needless to say, I won't be back there. I've already got an appt. at the end of the month with another dr. It's too bad, too, 'cause I really liked my dr. This was my day on Oct. 8--last Wed. (I copied and pasted this from a message board I'm on):
"I've had a crappy start today! First, some guy pulls out in front of me and then doesn't speed up. WTF? If you're in that big of a hurry to go, then go! On the way back home, an old man was passing from the other direction, and I had to go off on the side of the road to keep from getting creamed! I hate the way they drive around here!
But the topper--so far!--is this. I've been going to a podiatrist since July. I've got Achilles tendonitis in both feet, with bone spurs to boot. So my feet hurt horribly and I have a heck of a time walking. I've gone through at least 6 cortizone shots in my left foot and 1 in my right. I was wearing a night splint on the left foot just when I was sitting, since I can't walk on it. Now I'm in a little lace-up bootie that I have to wear with my shoes. I'm now eligible for new diabetic shoes and have been trying since August to get them. I STILL don't have them. I'm not a patient person in the first place, but I feel 2 months is plenty of time. The problem--at least one of them--is the gal that takes care of the shoes keeps giving me the runaround. When I first ordered them, she said it would take 2 weeks. AND...she didn't even measure my foot! She asked me what size I wore and took my word for it. OK...so that was my bad for not having her measure it anyway. I dealt with it. But guess what. When the shoes came in 2 weeks later, they were too big and too wide. She said that never happened to her before. Right! So she said she talked to the company and they were going to overnight them to her and she'd overnight them to me. That was a week ago Monday and guess what.... I still don't have them. So I called back last Thurs., 'cause she said I should have them by then and to call her and let her know I got them. So I call her Thurs. to tell her I still didn't get them. She said they were sitting there and she'd get them right out! Again...I still don't have them. So by now I'm pissed! I called her this morning and asked her where my shoes were and she said she'd check and call me back. Well, you guessed it...she didn't call me back. So I called her back 1 1/2 hours after I called the first time to find out she went to another clinic in another town! Can you believe it? So I get the office manager on the line, and what a B! OMG! Do you know what she said to me? She can't do anything about it. I asked to just look and see if they're there. So here's where I get really p'd! She said, What do you want me to do...calll her up and yell at her? You'll be here for your appointment Monday and you can get them then." I'm so ticked I'm just shaking! So I called my reg. dr. and told them what happened and told them to find me someone else, 'cause I'm not dealing with these people! All I want is my shoes. That shouldn't be too much to ask for. I told the office mgr. that and she told me I was the one making a big deal out of it! Unbelieveable!
Think I'll be "red marked" like Elaine on Seinfield as a trouble patient? lol "
I've calmed down since this, but it still irritates me. But on the bright side, the Dr. did take the time to call me back yesterday. I was surprised. I didn't think any of this would get past the office mgr. I told the dr. that I really liked him, but his staff sucked and didn't reflect him at all. Obviously, he's not going to get rid of his staff--but I told I'd come back if he did! lol--but he was going to talk to them, 'cause he had another complaint Monday about the office mgr. and he doesn't want his patients being treated crappy. So it's not just me that thinks she has an attitude! I'd love to be a fly on the wall and see how all that went down! lol In the meantime, the new dr. carries the same brand of shoes the old one does, so there's hope that I'll still get the ones I wanted in the first place. We'll see! :)
