Happy Birthday, Jacob

Tho it is a bit belated--just on my blog, tho. We didn't forget his birthday! lol Hard to believe he's 13! He's at that age now, where money is a great gift. So that's what he got. My Dad says--The size may not be right, but I know the color is! I love that! lol So Happy Birthday (belated), Bud--I love ya! :)

Check out my friend Shar's blog! It's been quite awhile since I've been on there myself, but I went there today and she has been busy!!! And....she's doing a giveaway! So go there and check out her blog and enter her giveaway--she's got a way cool prize on there!

New Project for Raspberry Road

It's been a busy, crazy month for me! I've had fun, tho, creating my gifts for this year. I've been to 3 crops, which I needed desperately! I'm still not done making everything, but I'm so close....! lol

Here's a pic of a mitten ornament I did using Raspberry Road's Plum Pudding. I love the colors and the frame! I wish I could make cluster frames like Susan and the other CT girls do, but, alas, it's just not on my list of things that I can do very well. Thank goodness these ladies can! If you go to the CT blog, you can download this for yourself. You will use your own title and picture, of course! :) Enjoy! :)

Finished Tags

I finally finished working on the tags that I created for Raspberry Road, then my computer died! UGH! It seems this happens a lot during this time of year, when I have so many projects that I need to get done! I've got 2 crops coming up and I was afraid that I'd be sitting there with nothing to do. Here's what happened--Thanksgiving morning I shut the computer down, thinking we would be getting some bad weather, which we didn't. I came back home, plugged in my surge protector, hit the power button on the computer and nothing! It wouldn't come on! I tried and tried and finally gave up. Then on Saturday, Jacob decided to try it and it came on--but I had no internet--so I couldn't post the pic of my finished tags! I called tech support--no help. I took the computer to Best Buy and they fixed the power problem--I needed a new power source. They hooked it up, internet working fine--great! I can get home and post those pics! But did it work at home you ask??? NO! Grrr....! So two different times I get in touch with tech support and each one says it's not the modem. They say it's the eternet cable. I buy a new cable. Again, does it work??? NO! I call again. This time it's the ethernet card. So I brave the elements--rain is coming down in buckets--and make the 140 mile round trip to Cape to go to Best Buy. Got a very nice and knowledgeable Geek, and he says it's the modem! So I buy a new modem, and voila! here we are! :) And here is a pic of the finished project. You can check out the CT Blog, too, and see some of the other neat things the girls have created. Enjoy! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, THOMAS JAMES

Today is Thomas' first birthday! We're going to go to Libby's for dinner today, and about 3:00, we'll head up to Ryan's for Thomas' birthday. We were all invited to their house for dinner, but their place is just too small. There would be maybe 11 of us, plus Audrey's family. We opted to do it this way. That's alright, tho. At least we'll be able to see everyone!:) I'm hoping to bring Dakota home with me so she can spend the night. We stopped by real quick last week to drop something off, but she was sick, so we didn't see her. But on Friday, she told her Mom--I'm not sick anymore,so now I can go to Grandma and Pawpaw's! lol She's such a sweetie! So tomorrow will be a big day all the way around!

Here's wishing everyone a safe and happy Turkey Day! :)

And Happy Birthday, Thomas James! We love you bunches!

Joy of Christmas Tags

I've made some tags from the new kit Joy Of Christmas. Go on over to Raspberry Road Designs and you can check out the kit AND the tags I made! :) You can download them, print them, cut them out and embellish away! I'm going to be working on my set tonight and will have a pic of the finished tags soon. So be checking out Raspberry Road and my blog so you can download yours! :)

This has been so much fun already! I was grinning from ear to ear, when I saw the tags. They were packaged up so pretty! Susan did this for me. They wouldn't have looked nearly as pretty if I had done the packaging myself. There are still some things to learn here, but I'm willing. It's just given me a big boost to be a Raspberry Girl! I can't wait to see what's next! :)

Thomas' Stocking

This is my first project as a Raspberry Girl! I used Susan's kit, Christmas Thyme, and took one of the stockings she made and turned it into a stocking with Thomas' picture on it! :) This is what I'll basically be doing as a Creative Team member--I'll take her gorgeous creations and turn them into some sort of project. I don't design--that's left up to people who know what they're doing! lol But I can take what they've designed, and turn it into a project, like the mitten. It's fun--I love doing this! Susan's next kit is called Joy of Christmas and I've made some gift tags up. Keep checking my blog, 'cause I think I'll be able to post them as a download for you! :)

We saw Ryan and Audrey tonight. The kids were sick, so we didn't go in. We just needed to drop something off real quick, anyway. Plus, I was afraid Dakota would want to come with us--she usually does! lol--and I didn't want her to get upset, because she couldn't come with us. But we'll be seeing the kids on Thanksgiving, which just happens to be Thomas' first birthday! :) Audrey and her mom are going to make him--can you guess???--a turkey cake! lol He's such a cutie! Guess what we got him for his birthday? Guess! A Thomas the train riding toy! It had to be! lol We're going to have dinner at Libby's, then we'll all drive up to Ryan's for Thomas' birthday. We were all invited for dinner, but their place is just too small. So we felt this was the best solution. At least we'll all be together for a part of the day! :)

It's Official--I'm a Raspberry Girl!

I had decided I wanted to make a Halloween banner to go on the back of my bench. I don't decorate a lot for Halloween--just my bench, which I call "Ode to Fall"! lol I was going thru my digi kits from last year and came across a kit from Raspberry Road (Susan Darter) called Hallows Eve. It was perfect--Susan had made a banner alphabet! I loved the colors--they were so vintage Halloween! So I got my Pazzles out, and with the help a new online friend, Lisa, I made scalloped banner pieces. Then I printed out the worded paper, as shown in the digi kit, glued them altogether, connected the pieces with ribbon and Voila!--my banner! I just love it!

Well, I decided to send Susan a pic of the banner, because it looked just like the banner alpha in her digi kit. She emailed me back, and told me she loved it, and invited me to be on her creative team, specializing in hybrid projects! I do projects--I can do this! :) I was nervous, as I always am when stepping out of my comfort zone. But decided to accept her invitation! So I'll be posting on her Creative Team Blog from time to time, with actual projects I've made out her digi kits!

So check out the Raspberry Road Designs site, and the Creative Team Blog site for some neat kits and projects!

Happy Anniversary--

to me! Denny and I celebrated our 34th anniversary today. On Monday October 25, 1976 we said let's get married, and on Wednesday, October 27, 1976, we did it! lol Obviously, it was a simple ceremony. But I didn't want to just get married down at he courthouse. I wanted to get married in a church. My church wouldn't marry us, since he had been married before. And there were a few others that wouldn't marry us, either. We drove around for hours, looking for a preacher, and finally found a Methodist preacher in Moline that said he'd do it. He told us what time to be at the church, and we went. And we waited...and we waited...and we waited. Finally, a big Winnebago drove up and out rolled a tipsy preacher and several ladies from the woman's auxillary. They'd been partying all afternoon! lol I've often wondered if our marriage was legal--that the preacher messed something up. Too late now. After 34 years, it probably wouldn't matter anyway! lol

Happy Anniversary, hon. I love ya and I'd do it all over again! :)
