Broccoli Salad Recipe #2

Here it is--Broccoli Salad Recipe #2! I went crazy with my new circle cutter, can you tell? I like the dimension of the flowers on this. There are 4 layers to the big flowers. I added small rhinestone brads to the little flowers. I wanted to add a little bling! lol Aren't these papers cool? These are from DCWV's Retro Stack. I bought this stack just for these papers! I love both of the recipe pages, but I think this one is the one I'm putting in my own recipe book. So tell me which one you like the best--this one or the first one I posted a day or two ago? Check them both out and let me know. You're on here looking anyway, so you may as well jump in and leave some feedback! :)

Going in Circles

I picked up the Creating Memories circle templates today. I've been cutting circles like a mad woman! lol This really is a pretty neat system. I'd actually already had the mat, blades, and oval templates. But OMG, I ran into problems! I have enough paper to make one more recipe page like the one I posted. I have a ton of paper, so I thought I'd use something else. Well, I have the Retro Stack, so I started making another page out of them. I'm loving this page even better than the first one! So anyway, I start cutting out tons of circles to make flowers. I decided to make them in layers, instead of just one flat piece like the original. But the problem came when I started printing out the recipes. The ink smeared! I guess all those layers made it too thick to go thru the printer. I worked for probably about 2 hours just trying to print out 2 flowers! Cut, print, cut print...you get it. But I figured out a way to make it work, and got them finished. It looks so cute! All I need to do now is embellish, but that's going to have to wait until tomorrow! When I get it done, I'll post it, so you can see which one you like the best! :)

Broccoli Salad Recipe

It's finally done! I'm liking this one. And it's fairly straight! lol These are the new BG's Gypsy papers. Aren't they awsome?! I need to get some kind of circle cutter, tho. I cut the big flowers and some of the circles by hand. That's why they look all wonky! lol Thank goodness I had a circle punch for the picture! Now I only have 5 more to go!

Katie, Kelsea and Jacob are spending the night tonight. Ryan's band is playing and Libby wanted to go watch him, so I told her bring 'em on over! Jacob was really good , but the girls got into it over the computer. They're both into IM'ing. Without going into all the boring details, I'll just say Katie got snotty with me. I don't put up with that crap! lol She was on the phone to a friend, and I made her hang up! She wasn't very happy with me, but I told her I wasn't putting up with her talking to me like that. Girls! lol She got over it quick enough, and everything was fine by the time she went to bed. It was so much easier when they were younger! lol

Gotta run! Hope you all have a safe and fun weekend!

Cutting Z Z Z Z Z's

I didn't get a darn thing done today. Can you see why? I had told Audrey earlier in the week I'd watch Dakota today if she had anything she wanted to do. This was much more fun! She came over about noon, and by 12:30, she and I were both taking a nap! We slept til 2:30. What a good girl! lol I just put her in the crook of my arm and we settled back into my comfy chair, and start cutting zzzzz's! After she woke up, I fed her and played with her, changed her somewhere along the line, and she fell back asleep about 4:30. I guess she played too hard! lol She got a good 45 minute nap in, then her mommy and daddy came to pick her up! I love having her over. She's so much fun to watch. She's starting to scoot now. But not forward--backward! She ended up wedging her little foot under the couch, and I had to lift it up to get her out! lol She didn't like that, tho. Pretty soon she'll be sitting up by herself, and moving all over the place. I'll have to start getting things out of her way.

Well, I'm off to see if I can get my recipe page started. Everyone stay safe and have fun!

Color Me Silly!

Denny had the day off today. He's usually off on Wed., but one of the girls wanted him to trade with her, so he did. What a nice guy! So we took off to the Big City! We decided to gas up about 40 miles down the road, and got a great surprise--$2.45 a gallon! Who could pass that up? Not us. So we filled up for $23! It was nice not going broke at the pump for a change. But get this--after we get to the Big City, we saw a place that had it for $2.39! Maybe there's hope, you think?

We stopped a couple of antique flea markets on the way. Haven't been to one of those places for a long time. I was looking for old buttons to use in my scrapbooking and found some! I need to soak them in Oxy, tho. They're kind of cruddy! After we got to the BC, we went to Sam's then over to Target. Didn't buy a thing at either place. Then we headed to Hobby Lobby. I did manage to find another pack of buttons, and a storage container for my buttons. Just not a big shopping day. But...we went to the next town up from the BC, and I hit a lss! This place is awsome! It's not decorated fancy--just pretty basic. But they have the neatest stuff! I found some clear buttons by 7gypsies. I had seen them in mags, but didn't figure I'd find any around here. And I got some Basic Grey "Color Me Silly" Frog paper. I don't why I didn't buy any when it first came out. But it's so cute! This lss keeps up on the latest and the greatest! They have Basic Grey's LilyKate and Gypsy--I LOVE Gypsy! A bunch of the new Rusy Pickle. Pretty neat stuff, if you haven't seen it yet! I can't think of what else they have, but I could have spent $500 bucks in there easily! I've got to go when Denny's not with me, tho. He's too impatient. He can only sit in the car for so long! lol

It's time to start another recipe. The catagory this time is Salad, so I'm doing Broccoli Salad. This stuff is to die for! Usually when I make it, I just dump in this and that and taste along the way. It's hard to try to come up with definite measurements. But I think I did it! I almost forgot to take my pictures, tho! What a maroon! lol Now I had made a huge bowl of this stuff, but by the time I shared it with friends and family and ate my fair share, there was not much left! I have a Fiesta Ware chili cup that I put the salad in, but there wasn't even enough left to fill it! lol So I crumbled up some aluminum foil and put it in the bottom, then put the remaining broccoli salad on top. Now it looks like a full bowl! lol By the time I get done with this recipe swap and taking all these food pictures, I think I'm going to go to work for one of the food mags, as a food photographer. I'll be an expert by that time! LOL

Time to go! Stay well, stay safe!

Monday, Monday

The weekend is over, and back to the weekly routine. I did go to my crop on Saturday, and had a great time. School started here last Thurs., so there were only 7 of us this time. I guess everyone is broke! lol Great for us scrappers, tho--we had plenty of room to spread out! I had a whole table to myself. What a treat! I managed to get my class project from last week finished. Well, pretty much finished. Just a little more tweaking and it will be complete . I picked up pics before going to the crop, and got those put in the album. About 4 rolls worth! I had previously printed about half of them, so I didn't have as many to deal with this time. I love my digi camera, but I don't stop until it's full, which is about 170 pics. That's almost 7 rolls of film to have to deal with at one time! I think I need to come up with a better system! lol

Here's my pic of the day. Another one of Dakota! Look at those chubby little legs. Aren't they adorable? Just makes you want to pinch her all over! lol I do have other grandkids. Honest. I'm going to have to have a photo shoot with them and show them off! They're just as cute as Dakota! :)

Thanks, Kip!

Thanks to Kip, Dakota no longer has the "red eye"! She fixed this for me, on her own, and sent it to me. Wasn't that a cool thing to do?! Thanks, Monkey girl! :)

I'm off to my crop! Stay safe, stay well, have fun!

I'm Ready for the Weekend!

I've been a scrappin' fool lately! lol Well, I've done 2 layouts in the past couple of days! This is what I came up with for Dakota's 3 month pics. I figured I'd better get in gear, because Audrey told me they'd be doing the 6 month pics next month! These are all cute, but my fave is the tiny one in the middle. I only had a wallet of that one, where the rest of the pics were proofs. But if you look real close, you'll see her little hands are folded. She's done this since day one! When she's tired, she folds her hands, takes her Binky, and I rock her to sleep. Then she's out like a light! See the pouty one? She was probably wanting her Binky! lol

These papers are Basic Grey's Oh Baby Girl. The same ones I used for Arianna's album. Amazing how you can use the exact same papers and come up with a totally different look. I'm happy that this one came out straighter, too. I tried to sit properly at my desk! lol Like the buttons? I was inspired by Cynthia's button layout. Sorry, Darla! If you're reading this, I honestly had the buttons laid out on there before I saw your challenge #10! lol Truely! I'm getting better with the photomerging, too. This one turned out great! Now if I can just remember how I did it, so I can do it again! lol

Saturday is crop day. One of my faves! I've got my bag and my projects packed. I think I brought enough to keep me busy for the night. I'll probably do more talking than anything! lol

Hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend!

Back to My Regularly Scheduled Program!

Dakota is growing so fast! She's 5 months old now, and is starting to do all those fun little things babies do. She's trying to sit by herself, but her bottom is still just too round! lol I had laid her on a blanket on the floor and came back to my studio to check emails real quick. When I came back in to check on her, she was totally facing the opposite direction! She scoots backwards! lol She loves to stand. I'll hold on to her little hands and try to have her sit down, and she locks those little chubby legs of hers so stiff, but I manage to get her down. She digs her feet in, and gets herself right back up into a standing position! She's so funny! I took this pic of her last week. She fell over right after I took the pic! lol (I had actually editted this pic--cropped it and took out the red eye, but for some reason it wouldn't load! :( Oh, well, she's cute even with red eyes! ) She even kept her hat on. I was surprised! She seemed to enjoy wearing it. Katie and Kelsea wouldn't have any part of a hat. As soon as we'd put one on their head, off it would come!

School started for the kids yesterday. They were glad to go back. I'm going to miss them, yet I'm glad my time is my own again. It's time for all of us to get back into our regular routine. Denny and I called them to see how the first day went. They had a good one. The girls got up early enough to straighten their hair. Katie bought a flat iron last week, so she does her hair and Kelsea's. It looked so nice when they did it, too. Both of them have wavy hair. I have no clue where that came from! I'm assuming they made the bus on time. That's usually a crap-shoot! They're always running late! lol Jacob said he had a pretty good day, too, so all is well! :) Now we just have to wait for our regularly scheduled tv shows to return. Then all will be right in my little world! lol

Arianna's Album

Here's my newest project. It's for my younger cousin. She had a baby girl, Arianna, in July, so I thought I'd make her a little album to get her started. It's an 8x8 album. I think I'm liking this size more and more. I actually got the album by SEI as a giveaway at my lss. The papers are the Baby Girl line from Basic Grey. Love their stuff! I had done an album class last month, and pretty much lifted the pages from that album for Arianna's. But I don't care. I'm happy with the end results! I, personally, don't find that I have to be original in everything I do. I do a LOT of scraplifting. I do a lot of my own stuff, too, but sometimes it seems easier to lift. A lot of times, tho, what starts out as scraplifting, ends up being inspiration, and not look anything like the original! I guess what's most important to me, is that it looks nice, and that I've done the best job I can. BUT....that being said....I see that almost every little page is crooked! lol It looks like I had a beer in one hand and a glue stick in the other! lol I sit kind of at an angle at my work space, so I guess I'm going to have to make sure to sit there straight on. Anyway, if you want to see what the rest of the album looks like, just click here. It's the first 9 pages, so just keep clicking next. Enjoy, and just pretend everything is on the pages nice and straight! lol

A Slam Dunk!

It was another busy week this week! Jacob had a rough one, though! Let's see....he must be ready to go back to school, because he's doing things he just plain shouldn't be doing! Katie caught him in the bathroom playing with the toilet paper. Wadding it up, and slam-dunking it into the toilet! Of course it splashed water all over the place, so I had to clean it with a Clorox sheet! Then I had to use the plunger to make sure the toilet didn't overflow when it was flushed. Then he took the role and ran it under the faucet and ruined it. But he dripped water all over the vanity, so he's using the wet toilet paper to try to wipe it up! And of course, he does this when I'm low on toilet paper! lol He got a spanking for this little stunt. He must have been mad at me, though, because then he pulled another bonehead move. I had taken the sheets off of my bed to wash, but hadn't made the bed up. He'd been laying on the bed covered up with the quilt watching TV. Well, Denny and I went in to make it up, and I notice there was a chunk missing out of mattress topper on the edge. "Someone" had picked a chunk out of it! I have one of those memory foam toppers, and for a king-sized bed, those puppies aren't cheap! I knew he was lying to me when he told me he didn't do it. I can usually tell by the expression on his face. He then admitted it. Of course, I'm pissed by this time! I asked him why he would do something like that?! He said he was bored!!! I didn't spank him for this one, though he deserved it! There's just no sense, in my opinion, to deliberately tear something up! I just told him he had to go to bed, and there would be no TV or computer for him the next day! That hurt worse than any spanking could have!

Wed., Denny and I took Libby and the kids to the big city school shopping. Jacob was well behaved that day! lol They all were. Libby's boyfriend, Jerry, had given them each $100 to spend on school clothes, to get them started. They all made wise purchases. There's a store down here called Steve and Barry's, and everything is $6.98 or less. Everything! Jacob got a cool jacket, that's styled like a letterman's jacket, 2 pair of jeans, and some shirts, gym shoes, school shoes and underware! After Steve and Barry's, we took them to Kohl's. Love that store! The girls did pretty well, too, but I can't remember what all they got. Kelsea is a smart shopper, tho. She said she could mix and match her new stuff with some stuff she already had at home. Good girl! I know Katie did end up with a couple of pairs of shoes, and 2 hoodies. They stretched those dollars, got lots of stuff, and were happy campers!

While they were at Kohl's, we ran over to Wal-Mart. It just wouldn't be a day off without going there! We didn't get anything exciting. Just a few odds and ends, and of course, toilet paper! We went back to Kohl's to see how they were doing, and helped them shop a bit more. We finally left there, and went back to WM, so they could get underwear. By this time it's getting late, and they're getting hungry, so we finally leave, and make a quick stop at McD's, and head for home. By this time, everyone has to go to the bathroom. Jacob and Kelsea hit the bathrooms first, and of course, there's no TP in there. So Kelsea yells for Jacob to bring her a roll when he's done, and he's griping about having to do it. Know what she said to him? "Well, if you hadn't wasted it playing with it, there'd still be some in here!!!" LOL Gotta love her! lol

What a Week!

I had a busy week this week. I've had Jacob since Sunday night. The girls' dad was in town, so they spent some time with him, and arrived here on their usual Monday evening. They went home last night. Whew! Now tonight I have Dakota, and will take her to Mommy and Daddy on Sunday afternoon. Ryan's birthday is coming up, so they're going with Audrey's sister and her husband to Six Flags for the weekend. I'm scared! I haven't watched a baby overnight in several years! I hope she doesn't keep me up all night, because I have crop tomorrow. I have to be awake and alert so I can have fun! lol I'll take her over to Mom's so she can watch her while I'm gone. Then I'll pick her up and bring her back home. Hope Denny rests up--I'm going to be needing him! lol

I have my second recipe page done! This one, of course has all the mistakes on it. Isn't that the way it always goes? Make 5 near perfect ones, and the last one gets messed up, so of course, that's the one you have to keep! lol I ran everything thru my Zyron, and somehow adhesive got stuck on my chipboard "t", so I tried covering it up. But I think I still have a bit of repair work to do! Same thing happened with my recipe file. Some adhesive got stuck to it, and I ended up about ripping it apart, so I had to rig it! Don't sweat the little things, right??? But anyway, I made Taco Soup, and it was delicious! You should have seen me. I got Denny's and Jacob's bowls ready and sent them on into the living room to eat. So then I staged my photo shoot! lol I got out my Fiestaware bowl and plate, and put in a matching spoon and starting shooting pics! I'd do a few, then run back to the computer to see how they were turning out, then run out and take some more pics. I finally got the one I wanted ! Then I went to my photo editer, and fixed it a bit, and voila! So I can say the pic I used is actually mine! lol So when I printed the recipe, I put it on a fold-up recipe card. I even did some doodling. It's fun, and just gives it a little extra something! lol

Enjoy, and everyone have a safe and happy weekend!

Casey at the Bat

I give up for tonight! I've tried for ages to change the header in my blog, but everything I've tried isn't working. I at least know where in the template I'm supposed insert the change, but the image I'm trying to put in there is ENORMOUS when I preview it! I've even tried reducing it, but I'm obviously missing something here. So, if there are any bloggers out there reading this and can help, I'm sending out a big SOS! Click on my profile and email me! :)

I've spent the weekend working on my newest recipe for the swap. I'm doing taco soup! I'll be making it for supper tomorrow night. 90 degree weather here, and I'm fixing soup! But I have to make it so I can take a picture for the layout. You understand, right???! lol I'll post it as soon as I get the pics on there. :)

Jacob is all done with baseball for this season. Shameful us, we never did make it to a game. It's so friggin' hot and buggy down here, that we didn't go. But I've got pics! The one I've posted here is from the Little League. After that, he went on to the All Stars! I'll be scrapping them for his album, eventually. (I'm quite behind on the kids' albums!) They came in 1st place in Little League and got a trophy, and 4th place in the All Stars and got a medal. He was pretty proud of himself, and we were proud of him, too!

The Best Part of Life

The kids left to go home today. I love having them here, but when Thurs. rolls around, I'm ready for my normal routine, which is all about me! lol They're usually pretty good while they're here. I don't have any problems with them, because they know I won't put up with nasty attitudes. They push their mom, like all kids do, but they know not to give me grief! Katie, the oldest, said one time that they behave themselves while they're here, because they know they can't get by with anything. Smart kids! lol

I really do enjoy them. When I'm not busy, I'll watch their shows with them. They love "Raven", "The Suite Life", and some others whose names I don't remember. And it's fun talking to them. All they want is someone to listen to them. It's funny how much more patience I have now than when I was raising my kids. I was busy working at work, working at home, just trying to provide for them , you know? I was busy raising them, and didn't take time to enjoy them. Since becoming a grandparent, I've found that what I thought used to be so important, really wasn't. I have the time now to listen, watch cartoons, etc. And it's fun! Since they've been born, I've found everything they do to be amazing! Kelsea, the middle one, is 11, and can talk and tell a story for 15 minutes straight, and not take a breath! Denny and I just look at each other crack up! lol She's so funny! She's the clean freak of the group. You never have to tell that one to clean up. She likes to look just so, and has her own style about her. And she's the one who washes the car, cleans the bathroom, vacuums the house--all without being told! She likes things nice and neat! Good for her, I say! The other night she was on the computer, and do you know what she was doing? Checking out e-bay, looking at clothes for school! This kid is a hoot! I think being a grandparent is the best part of life!

The Hoopdy

It's been pretty uneventful here for the past few days. The kids came back Monday night, and they'll go home Thurs. night. Jacob had a game tonight. Two, actually. They lost the first one, but won the second one. He was grinning from ear to ear when he walked in the door! Vacation Bible School has started, so the girls went there Mon. and Tues. night. Thurs. will be the last night for that. Not too sure how much they're learning, tho. Kelsea probably is getting something out of it, but Katie's teacher isn't guiding them very well, I think. Of course, this all Katie's side, but she says the "intern" (preacher wannabe) is her teacher, and all he does is fight with the kids, and tell them how stupid they are, and calls them names! Then he gives them their lesson book and tells them to read it! Since I don't go there, I've got no say. But if I did go there, he and I would be having a little chat! She says he hasn't treated her as badly as he's treated the others, but she's like me--she doesn't let him get by with talking to her that way. Hey, Peggie! He was trying to correct her on how to say Oregon. And you KNOW how he said it--Ora-gone! She told him she lived there for 8 years, so she knows how to pronounce it--Ora-gun! I say, good for her! :) So it was just this kind of crap that went on for the whole 2 hours. What a waste!

Libby has been having car problems again, so we're taking her car in to have it checked. Hopefully it will be something easy and cheap to fix. But you know it never is! So in the meantime, she's using Denny's old beater--The Hoopdy! This poor car is just the blight of the neighborhood! But she runs!!! She just needs to be babied, and maybe she'll make it thru Libby's use of her. Libby is tough on cars! So keep your fingers crossed that Hoopdy lives!

Cool, Clear, Water

Remember that song by Marty Robbins? Dad had that album--Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs-- and I used to listen to it all the time. Loved it! Well, I didn't hear that song today, but I was in the cool, clear, water. We went to the river! I LOVE to go there! We didn't get to go at all last summer, so I was really looking forward to going this year. With the hotter than blazes heat we've had this past week, today seemed like a good day to go! We go to Current River. It's named that because of......the currents! When I was a kid, we used to go to the river once in awhile when we would visit down here. And we would float down the river on innertubes. I don't float anymore but I still like to play in the water. A few years ago we found a really neat spot with tables and grills, and just a short walk down to the river. The water is usually pretty clear, with a rocky bottom, so you need to wear shoes. I'm a tenderfoot, so shoes is must for me! lol The current is swift, but not so bad that you can't play. There are some areas of the river where the current is so swift, you can hardly stand. But this area is pretty tame. My most favorite thing to do is take my fold-up camping chair and just park it in the water. Then when the boats go by, the waves come splashing up on me! I guess you'd just have to be there! lol

I'll leave you with a pic of my grand-daughters and their friend, Miranda, who is on the left. Kelsea is in the middle and Katie is on the right. My red-headed beauties! It just doesn't get any better than this!

Another Big Biscuit Day

What a day! And I mean that in a good way! lol My friend Brandi I and went shopping today. We decided to do a day trip about and hour and a half from where we live. I met her at 10 a.m., gassed up, grabbed some breakfast at Burger King, then we were on our way! We got to Carbondale about noon, and headed straight for Michaels with coupons in hand! She printed off a bunch of Joann's coupons for us. I had emailed her and asked her if she was going to hord them all for herself, or if she planned on sharing, which I knew she was. Know what she emailed me back? "If you want more, print 'em!" LOL I did, and it's a good thing! It was definitely a good shopping day for her. Her goal was to get the Cricut. (For my friends who don't know what this is, check out the Cricut.) They actually did have it in stock, they did let her use her "Joann's" 40% off coupon on it, and let her use another coupon to get the case for it! Big biscuit day for Brandi, that's for sure! (That's what a message board friend says when she's had a good shopping day). So she ends up saving $160 with those Joann's coupons. What a deal, huh? Know what I used my 40% coupon on? Some $3.99 flower brads!

After we got done at Michael's, we ran over to Joann's, where we DIDN'T use the coupons. They just have a little pitiful scrapping section. Not impressed! By the time we were done there, I was starving, so we hit the pizza joint, and caught our second wind. Then it was off to Marion, about 15 miles away. We hit the Target store, but there wasn't any of the neat Dollar Spot items that I'd been hearing about. Brandi did manage to pick a few things up there, tho. Then we started to head on back home. About 40 miles from home is another lss, so we hit that one. And yes, Brandi manage to find some stuff there, too! lol So another 20 miles down the road, we stop at WM. I had to pick up some pics--the b&w's that I did of Ryan and Dakota. And Brandi found THE buttons--like the ones I had posted a pic of. So see what a great shopping day she had? But by this time, I've had it and I'm ready to head home and get my feet up, and take an extra Naproxen! We're thinking about doing this again next Sat., but head in a different direction. IF I've recoverd by then!

I'm Cool....

The AC is fixed! The AC guy called me at 8:40 a.m. and showed up at 10:00. What a deal! Everything was ok, except it needed a good cleaning. He said that if it had gone on for a couple more days, with it being as hot as it had been, the AC would have quite working! It hadn't been cleaned in the 3 years we've lived here. Why don't landlords take care of these things? IMO, this is totally the landlords responsibility, not the renter. Can you imagine the fit she would have thrown if the air completely broke down? And who's fault would it have been? She really had been shelling out the bucks around here lately, tho. First, there was the leak in kitchen and the bathroom. The hot water heater is in a closet in the kitchen, and it had leaked and ruined the floor. The bathroom is right behind the kitchen, so it leaked in there, too, which meant that floor had to be replaced. What a nightmare! The guys were here for almost a week, and I was about bonkers! I've decided I'd never survive building our own house! I've got my own way on how I think most things should be done, and surprisingly enough, it usually does not gel with anyone else's way of thinking! lol But anyway, about a month after that, we had a big storm and lost a bunch of shingles off of the roof, so she had the roof replaced. And she's been crying ever since! lol They're always nice, til they get hit in the pocketbook! lol

I've been working on a little ablum today. My younger cousin just had a baby, so I thought I'd do a little something for her. It's all totally scraplifted, but I'm happy with how it's turning out. The cool thing is that I got the little album as a give away at the lss. What a deal, huh? I'll post some pics when I get it done. :)

My friend Brandi and I are going to the BIG city today! We're going to hit Joann's, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and Target. It's pitiful to have to drive almost 2 hours for civilization and good shopping! Guess I'd better get to bed. I don't want to over-sleep!

Another Hot One Today...

I'll be glad when this crap is over!!! The AC was acting up again today. It stayed nice in the house til about 3:30 p.m., then it started heating up again! Denny thinks the AC is just having a hard time keeping up. I think it was 105 outside with a heat index of 110 today! It only got to about 82 in the house, but that's too hot for me! The landlady assured me someone would be here today to check on it. I called her at 10 p.m. and told her they were a no show. She says she's doing all she can. That's nice, knowing she's sitting in her big air-conditioned house all nice and comfy! So I told her to give me the # of the guy she called and let me talk to him! She did, but naturally at this time of night, I got an answering machine. I left a message, so we'll see if I hear from him tomorrow. She won't call a reputable company to come out; she always finds these fly-by-night guys to do the work, so she won't have to pay them so much. I'm all for saving money, but give me a break--I'm hot!

It's @#!?*&%#! Hot!

OMG, it's unbelieveable down here! Ryan said today it was 105 with a heat index of 108. Too friggin' hot! We have central air, but guess what? It picked today to stop working! I was fixing dinner around 5 and knew it was starting to heat up. But I thought with it being so hot outside, the AC was having a hard time keeping up. It just kept getting hotter and hotter, and I'm just dripping wet from sweating, going thru paper towels like crazy! After dinner I ran to town to take a movie back, and when I got back Denny said the air wasn't working! It was 86 in the house! I'm just dieing here, thinking of what a miserable night it was going to be. I had checked the breaker box to see if that was the problem, but it didn't seem to be. The fan on the AC still wasn't turning. So I called the landlady and she was going to try to reach her friend that works on the AC. Poor Denny is just dieing, too, so he goes back to the breaker box, and messes with it, and lo and behold the fan starts running again! I hadn't flipped the switch back hard enough to reset it. What a maroon!!! So by this time, it's dang near 90! Can you say freakin' hot???!!! I'm so thankful he went back and tried it one more time. It's cooling down pretty good now. I just checked and it's 76. A huge difference! Think we may get a good night's sleep afterall!
